A Note from the Founder of Nice Catch!

A Note from the Founder of Nice Catch!

Hi there! I'm Kate and I was a mediocre little league baller from age five to 18. My prospects for D1 glory were nonexistent, but that never stopped me from having a blast with my teammates and gleefully passing out my very own trading card each season.

I shared them with friends, second cousins, the bus driver...you name it. Unlike awkward yearbook photos, these cards represented the way I wanted to see myself (as a badass athlete) and always made me feel special and proud.

Fast forward a few seasons to adulthood, and life has gotten so much more complicated. We've got bills to pay, jobs to do, and future husbands and wives to meet! Oof, it's a lot.

Not to mention, we're living in a time that has us more connected, while being simultaneously lonelier than ever. Whether you're exhausted from swiping on dating apps, a little blue from your work-from-home routine, or maybe you're new in town, I think we can agree that screens are doing our social lives no favors.

While we'll probably never be as carefree as our younger selves, we deserve to recapture some of the wonder, excitement, and possibility of seasons past.

That's why I created Nice Catch! These cards are meant to be a fun way to showcase YOU. Not your job, not your credentials, but the qualities and hobbies you want others to know and appreciate about you.

Nice Catch! cards won't magically transform your social life (or maybe they will?!), but I guarantee they will break the ice and leave a lasting impression on whoever is lucky enough to receive one.

If there's one lesson being an adult has imprinted on me, it's that life is short and nothing is guaranteed. There’s simply no time like the present to take to the streets (or bars, parties, pickleball courts, bowling alleys, dog parks, human parks, meetups, and of course, baseball games) in pursuit of IRL (in real life) fun.

So, there you have it! A love for little league, a healthy dose of nostalgia, and a genuine desire to see people connect in a more meaningful way – that's the recipe for a Nice Catch!

See you out there,

Kate
